TEST BENCH FOR STUDY OF PRESSURE DROPS BY LAMINAR AND TURBULENT LOWS MP85

This apparatus makes it possible to determine the characteristics parameters of laminar and turbulent flows. This unit is composed of a 3 mm diameter tube in which water circulates either by pumping, or by gravity from a charged tank. The pressure drops are measured with upstream and downstream piezometric pipes.

Teaching objectives

- To draw the curve log. DH = f(v) to calculate the number of Reynolds Re, DH being the load losses and v the speed in the tube
- To calculate the critical Re value and the viscosity of the liquid
- To obtain the pipe friction coefficients f according to the equations of Darcy and Blasius.
